Among these medicines is one called Babailasa. According to our grandparents, during the Second World War, Australian troops threw the seeds of the medicine from an airplane onto the ground and it grew and flourished in our country today. During the Indonesian occupation, our fighters or heroes who were in the forest used this medicine to treat wounds.\r\nIt can live in any environment or place but often thrives better in open or flat lands, such as Viqueque, Baucau, and Lospalos. Babailasa medicine is specifically used to heal both small and large wounds. The processing of the medicine is very simple, easy, and fast, without mixing with other ingredients, and there is nothing sacred or forbidden when using the medicine. When someone is injured, we will take Babailasa leaf buds, then wash them thoroughly and then chew or grind them by hand or can also crush them until smooth, then cover the wound, then tie it with a cloth tightly (not too tightly), and leave it for 24 hours. After 24 hours, the medicine should be replaced with a new one and then applied to the wound. The healing process of the wound depends on the condition of the wound. Usually after two days we can see changes, and if there is no change, the patient should be taken to the hospital to get treatment from a doctor\r\n"

There is one national hospital located in Dili, one large regional hospital in Baucau and four smaller hospitals in Suai, Maubisse, Bobonaro and Oecussi. At sub-national level, each of the 13 municipalities has a district health office that coordinates clinical services for the area. These services are provided to the population through a network of 65 community health centres (CHCs, one per administrative post) that provide primary health services, out-patient clinics, simple lab testing, health promotion and preventative healthcare (immunisations); only 8 CHCs have in-patient services. There are also 193 health posts located across the country that are generally staffed by midwives and nurses and can provide basic medications but not laboratory or in-patient services. In addition, a community-based service (Community Health Services, Saude na Familia) makes monthly visits to each village to deliver health promotion, nutrition interventions, maternal and child healthcare, infectious disease control and environmental healthcare.\n\nKlinika Venilale bele haree iha filme: HAMETIN HATUTAN LISAN HO AI-MORUK IHA TIMOR-LESTE\n\n(min 30 | 2020 | lian: Tetun)\n\nBuka kura moras iha Timor-Leste dala barak mak dalan naruk. Timorese people acknowledge and embrace multiple pathways to healing in a complex interplay between spiritual care, comfort and personal connection. Through lifelong observation and learning, they trial a variety of practices and pass down their knowledge to the next generation. \n\nHolding Tightly observes seven approaches to healing in remote, rural and urban parts of the Baucau municipality in the country’s east, spanning contexts and experiences from the armed resistance era to the independence period. \n\n"
